The Los Angeles Clippers arrived tonight (Sunday) at Madison Square Garden with the goal of putting together a third straight win, and they succeeded. The team from second place in the West defeated the New York Knicks 115: 129 in a game that was close for almost the entire length. Kwai Leonard led the winner with 28 points.
It was tough, but the Clippers can be encouraging. After getting back two days ago Paul Paul and Leonard who came out of the NBA Health Protocol, Tyrone Lou’s team looked good and maintained second place in the West. 42 points shared by the two plus 18 by Reggie Jackson helped the team from Los Angeles escape in the final quarter and raise their balance to 5:16.
New Yorkers can draw optimism from the close battle with one of the strongest teams in the league and from the ability of Julius Randall. The excellent forward continued his high ability of the season, scoring 27 points and adding 12 rebounds, but that was not enough for his team, which will try to correct in the pair of games in Chicago on Monday and Wednesday.
The Clippers will stay in New York because Kwai and his teammates are expecting a fascinating game against the Brooklyn Nets star battery this coming Tuesday.
