2021 Writers Guild award nominees include ‘The Great,’ ‘Ted Lasso,’ ‘Better Call Saul,’ among others

As the entertainment industry ‘s awards season begins in high gear (although there is a slight delay this year due to the pandemic), another entity has been announced.

Writers Guild of America West (WGAW) and Writers Guild of America East (WGAE) have been nominated for outstanding achievement in television, new media, news, radio / audio, and promotional writing during 2020. Winners will honored at the 2021 Writers Awards Ceremony on Sunday, March 21, 2021.

Some of the events mentioned, for the writing of drama series, Better Loss Saul, The Boys, The Crown, The Mandalorian, and Ozark.

In the comedy series section, submissions were made Stop your well-being, The Great, PEN15, Ted Lasso, and What we do in the reflections.

Great and Ted Lasso also included in the New Series section along with Dave, Flight Attendant, and Lovecraft Country.

Long form content, divided into two categories, one of which varies materials, including designations for Dirty John: The story of Betty Broderick, Hollywood, Miss America, Safety, Uncle Frank, Poor Education, Clouds, Good Lord Bird, Small Fires Everywhere, Queen’s Gambit.

In the Comedy / Variety Talk series, series Desus & Mero, Full face with Samantha Bee, Last week tonight by John Oliver, Late night with Seth Meyers The Late Show with Stephen Colbert nabbed designations.

The Simpsons received four nominations in the animation category, and singles were featured Europhia and Rasied with Wolves nodes garnered, as did also Awkwafina is Nora from Queens, Dead to me, Grace and Frankie, and Maintain high.

Other categories include the Audience Question and Engagement series, Daytime Drama, Children ‘s Episodic and Long Form, and Digital News.

The West American Writers Association (WGAW) and the East American Writers Association (WGAE) are trade unions representing writers in motion picture, television, cable, digital media, and broadcast news. Guilds negotiate and administer contracts that protect the creative and economic rights of members; hosting programs, conferences and events on issues of interest to writers; and share writers’ views on a number of government agencies.
