2021 will include four eclipses

In 2021, there will be four eclipses, including one total solar eclipse and one total lunar eclipse. Two of these will be on display from India, Ujjain-based Jiwaji Observatory Chief Superintendent Dr Rajendraprakash Gupt said on Sunday.

Mr. Gupt PTI that the first of these events will take place on 26 May; it will be seen in parts of West Bengal, coastal Odisha and in the northeastern states, with the exception of Sikkim, as the moon is seen earlier in those places than in other areas of the country.

A full lunar eclipse occurs when the earth comes between the sun and the moon.

Mr Gupt also said that the annular solar eclipse on June 10 will not be seen in India. In this event, the moon comes between the sun and the earth, and the sun gets 94.3 percent coverage and is seen as a ” ring of fire ”.

“At the height of this event, 97.9 percent of the moon can be seen covered by the earth’s shadow. But the total solar eclipse on December 4, the last of 2021, will not be seen from India,” he said.
