2021 Elections: This is the role that Ben Gvir will demand from Netanyahu

Chairman of Jewish Power Adv. Itamar Ben Gvir announced this evening (Saturday) that he intends to demand that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu be the Minister of Defense of the Negev and the Galilee in the next government. “What’s going on in the Negev and the Galilee is the Wild West, someone needs to take care of it – and that’s me,” he said in an interview with News 12.

“When the prime minister said I would not be a minister, I did not understand what he wanted, because my original plan was to seek the chairmanship of a constitutional committee. It’s my professional, law, I built a successful law firm and that’s what I wanted. But I’m after a month coming to me Soldiers in the Negev, and they tell me ‘we are entering our fire areas’ and there is complete anarchy there. Women who go to jogging bother them. In the north, not only in the south they take protection from business owners. So I say here for the first time “Security needs to be restored to the Negev and the Galilee. What goes on there is a wild west. Someone needs to take care of it – and that’s me.”

Ben Gvir also referred to the immunity bill he intends to promote in the next Knesset, according to which the prime minister and ministers will be automatically entitled to immunity from prosecution: “The prime minister and ministers should have spot immunity. I do not do it for Netanyahu or Deri, I do it for everyone. “A minister or prime minister, so that they will not be held captive by the attorney general and the prosecutor’s office. In every normal country there is no such thing. Only in Israel does one person have all the power to decide who will be prime minister or minister. This thing must be stopped.”

Ben Gvir was asked if there was a possibility that he would sit under a prime minister other than Netanyahu. “Netanyahu is really a different league. I will not sit under a torch or a storm. Bennett, with all due respect and appreciation, cannot be a prime minister with ten seats.”
