2021 Elections: The Likud will look for invalid votes of the joint

First publication. After the election, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu set up a team to identify invalid votes or mistakes made mainly at polling stations where a high turnout was recorded for the joint list. The Likud’s working assumption is that if 2,600 votes from the joint list are rejected, the Likud will receive one more seat.

Israel Today has learned that Netanyahu summoned his associate Adv. Michael Ravello, and MK Adv. Amit Halevi and Adv. Simcha Rotman, who is currently elected to the Knesset on behalf of the Religious Zionist list, to his office yesterday (Wednesday) Now before the Likud when it comes to counting the votes. The team members were required to examine whether it was possible for the Likud to receive a mandate following the disqualification of the joint vote.

The test will focus on polling stations with a high turnout for the joint list in Arab population concentrations, such as Umm al-Fahm, Taibeh, Jaffa and Kfar Manda.

Committee members sound skeptical about the possibility of finding 2,600 invalid votes, but the issue will be examined in the coming days.

Advocate Rotman said in response: “As part of the last election lessons, a joint team of parties has been set up to detect faults and forgeries in the election work.”
