2021 Elections: Bnei Gantz invited center-left leaders to a meeting – and they refused

Following his speech last night, in which he called for the unification of the center-left bloc, this morning (Tuesday) a blue-and-white chairman, Bnei Gantz, sent an invitation to the other party leaders in the bloc to a meeting today at 9:00 PM, with the aim of discussing a possible unification. One of the recipients did not respond positively to the invitation, and many of those involved even shrugged it off and attacked Ganz.

Prof. Yaron Zelicha, chairman of the Economic Party, justified his refusal to meet: “The economy is in a deep crisis, and politicians are running around like crazy mice to find a work arrangement for the next Knesset. I am not looking for a job arrangement, certainly not alongside those who were full partners in abandoning the middle class and the self-employed while enjoying a full and secure salary. “Instead of demanding that honest people store their egos, Ganz would do well to store his party, and let others lead the country, and especially its economy from here.”

The chairman of the Yisrael Beiteinu party, MK Avigdor Lieberman, wrote on his Twitter account: “My son, there is no point in a meeting whose whole purpose is to secure your seat in the next Knesset. You missed your opportunity to replace Netanyahu. We have 1,300,000 reasons not to believe you “.

A source in Ron Huldai’s party, the Israelis’ Party, said that “invitations are not sent by e-mail,” and that if Gantz is serious about his intention, he has Huldai’s phone number.

The party of Moshe (Boogie) Ya’alon, TLM, also rejected the initiative. MK Orly Froman wrote on her Facebook account: “The State of Israel needed an emergency government! But Bnei Gantz did not have enough courage. With the formation of the government and the entry “under the stretcher”, the coalition members promised to carry it together. Promise unity, strength, resilience, cooperation. They said – “No sticks and no tricks”. And again, Bnei Gantz and Blue and White did not have the courage to get out of Netanyahu’s grip. “

Meanwhile, former Meretz chairwoman Zehava Gal-On called Gantz a “political corpse” this morning on an IDF broadcast.
