TORONTO, January 12, 2021 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) – New Year, the same energy Culture Days. The arts emerged as a way of life of joy, giving the gifts of color, hope and rediscovery needed to make it through the past year. Together, we wonder what a post-pandemic world would look like and how we can all contribute to that brighter picture. Through that lens, Culture Days is chosen RE: IMAGINE as a very appropriate topic 2021. The annual celebration of the arts, culture and life enriched by the duo will be reintroduced as a 4-week celebration across Canada from September 24 through October 24, 2021. RE: IMAGINE marks a positive turning point – the commitment to building meaningful change into the arts and culture of the future.

Last year, along with many others, Culture Days faced a sudden challenge, including the need to postpone personal events. Culture Days quickly redefined what made up an optional festival event that ranged from one weekend to a 4-week interactive, immersive arts and culture experience. The community responded in an effective way, with creators of all kinds offering an opus of more than 2,000 events, including live streams, self-directed experiences, digital recordings and more. More than 2.2 million Canadians attended Culture Days in 2020, and there is no expectation of losing momentum.

The mission of Culture Days continues with a focus around friendship, mentoring and opportunity for the arts and culture community. Through 2021 this means an increase in workshop building workshops and workshops to help artists and cultural organizations create, share and connect what it means. It means increasing mental and physical health resources and creating opportunities for networking and sharing ideas. It is about providing the tools and guidance to organizers and urban areas to help them create rich and representative cultural experiences in their community. It is about working with partner organizations to fill gaps in support and create a more inclusive and diverse landscape where underrepresented voices find a safe place to be. the hearing. It’s about doing better. Culture Days is still a way to celebrate the creativity we use and enjoy every day and also strengthen the future of what it means to create in Canada.

It’s time to build something different. Days Days is looking for contributors and writers with new perspectives and unique Canadian art and culture stories to share through a special blog series inspired by our 2021 theme RE: IMAGINE. See the full Call for writers.
