Jan Obelek, Score: 7
With a penalty save that could decide an entire season, it is impossible not to give this wonderful goalkeeper the title of outstanding player
Angel Correa, Score: 4
Was inaccurate throughout the game and not involved enough. Hardly contributed in the front
After the painful relegation against Chelsea in the Champions League already in the quarterfinals, Atletico Madrid returned tonight (Sunday) to the Spanish league and the championship race, and defeated Alavés 0: 1 in the 28th round. The game, like all Spanish league games, was broadcast on Channel ONE for HOT subscribers, yes subscribers, Cellcom TV and Partner TV.
The Colchoneros suffered a 2-0 draw from the Blues four days ago and their unflattering streak stands at just one win in the last four games in all competitions, and tonight was far from impressive, but at this stage of the season, what matters is to score points and maintain its gap at the top of Real Madrid and Barcelona .
It started with a horribly weak 45 minutes, perhaps Atletico’s worst this season, but for the second half Simeone’s side came up completely different, took the lead from a Luis Suarez goal and were worth at least one more goal.
But in the end what we will remember from this game is what happened about five minutes before the end, so Jan Obelek, considered by many to be the best goalkeeper in the world, provided a moment that could be called a “championship moment”, with a dramatic penalty save. If Atletico does win the championship at the end of the season, it will definitely be one of the moments it will return to.
