Liel Abda, Score: 6
Was in the right place at the right time to balance the result for his team with an important goal
Fernand Guri, Score: 4
Except for a few opening moves, did not do too much for the diamonds until it was replaced
An important battle that could turn out to be especially decisive for the ticket to the top playoff was held tonight (Wednesday) between Maccabi Petah Tikva and Maccabi Netanya in the colony, at the end of which the teams parted points and 1: 1 which is not really beneficial for both and complicates them for the next games.
The Blues stopped after the victory in the previous round, while the Yellow-Blacks managed to get a point after the loss against Hapoel Tel Aviv. It was Guy Luzon’s first draw in 2021, when Netanya, on the other hand, completed a fifth consecutive away game without a loss.
The Malabes were the ones who opened the game better, as Liel Abda was not far from winning in the opening and even claimed a touch of a hand and a penalty that came to his team, but did not receive a response from Eitan Shmuelevich. Although Netanya was pressured in the opening, as the minutes ticked by it also gained more confidence and managed to punish.

After Fernand Guri bombed the crossbar, Raymond Atwald’s team got into another twinkling situation when Yuval Sadeh hit the ball into the net in the 15th minute. After finishing the half late, Guy Luzon responded with no less than three substitutions, which soon paid off for him, when Tai Baribo arranged for Liel to work the equalizer in the 63rd minute.
The move was tested for a long time by the VAR, but the host’s goal was approved and the teams eventually parted ways in a points division that was mostly beneficial to the Malabes, who maintained a two-point gap from the direct rival on the playoff ticket. The teams played positive football for most of the minutes and if they continue with a similar ability there is no reason for both of them not to get the ticket.
