1 COVID-19 case in New Brunswick linked to cases at a Maine – New Brunswick paper mill

Three employees at a paper mill in Madawaska, Maine, have been positive for COVID-19, including an individual who lives in New Brunswick.

Twin Rivers Paper Mill is located just over the U.S.-Canada border near Edmundston, NB

Brian McAlary, vice president of development at Twin Rivers Newspaper Company, confirmed to Global News on Sunday that the cases are two individuals living in Madawaska, and another living in Edmundston.

He said as a result of seeking contact with the mill five other workers, all in Edmundston, NB, are on their own as a precautionary measure.

The company works with CDC Maine and the New Brunswick Department of Health and maintains information with both organizations.
