Widow of officer slaps IDF Spokesman for horror joke

The widow of an IDF officer killed by Hamas terrorists who had entered Israel from the Gaza Strip through a tunnel, was sued by the IDF Spokesman’s Office Sunday night for a meme that shed light on the the threat posed by terrorist tunnels to the State of Israel. .

The meme was tweeted by the official IDF Twitter account and showed a picture of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah next to the text: “Are you in a tunnel? Cause I’m digging you. “

“Hezbollah decided we were the perfect ones … to make it awesome,” the IDF wrote in the tweet. “If you need a last-day Valentine’s Day card, here’s a new welcome on behalf of Hassan Nasrallah, Secretary General of Hezbollah.”

The IDF referred to the discovery of a series of tunnels in Hezbollah in 2018 that dug over the border from Lebanon into Israel. At the time, the IDF said Hezbollah intended to use the tunnels to send hundreds of guerillas into Israel to carry out terrorist attacks in communities near the border.

In response, Michal Kesten Keidar shook the IDF and said she was personally insulted.

“Tunnels are not a joke and it is not Nasrallah,” wrote Kesten Keidar. “It’s sad that a joke like this is coming from an IDF Spokesperson.”

Lt.-Col was the late Kesten Keidar. Dolev Keidar killed during the Gaza war in 2014 during a fire by Hamas terrorists who had entered Israel through a cross-border tunnel near Kibbutz Nir Am.
