The China space probe took 1,731 grams of samples from the moon

BEIJING: China’s Chang’e-5 probe, which successfully returned to earth this week, has recovered about 1,731 grams of samples from the moon, the country’s space agency said Saturday.
The samples were handed over to Chinese research teams Saturday morning.
Scientists perform storage, analysis and research of the first samples in the country collected from the extraterrestrial object, China’s National Space Administration (CNSA) said.
The return capsule of the Chang’e-5 probe landed in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Department in the early hours of Thursday, taking the samples collected from the moon.
The Chang’e-5 mission marks the successful completion of the current three-phase lunar exploration program of maneuvering and landing, and the retrieval of samples that began there. and 2004.
It was the country’s first attempt to import lunar samples in more than 40 years after the U.S. sent astronauts to the moon to collect samples. In lunar sampling missions without Soviet Union personnel, the spacecraft departed from the moon and returned directly to Earth.
The Chang’e-5 probe, comprising an orbiter, lander, ascender and return, was launched on November 24, and a lander-ascender combination was launched down the north side of the Mons Rumker in Oceanus Procellarum, also known as the Ocean of Storms, on the side near the moon on December 1st.
China in recent years has emerged as a major space force with man-made space missions and landings in the dark side of the moon. He is currently building a space station for himself.
Chang’e-5, the third Chinese spacecraft to land on the moon, is the latest in a series of increasingly ambitious missions for Beijing’s space program.
