Shane Warne made an exciting sartorial choice for the first summer test match of cricket on Thursday.

The 51-year-old cricketer married a flat captain with his dark blue suit while reporting the match.

His choice on the cap left both his fellow reporters and TV viewers confused, with Shane explaining his bold decision.

He said he wanted to pay homage to young cricketer Cameron Green, who had given him Captain Baggy Green before his first ever test match.

The 21-year-old was named captain by Australian cricket vice-captain Pat Cummins.

Shane said this was his way of paying homage to one of his favorite TV shows, Peaky Blinders.

British time drama stars Cillian Murphy and Tom Hardy, and many of the characters wear flat caps.

The other reporter and former cricketer Adam Gilchrist was the one who questioned Shane about his cap, prompting a clever dig from his friend.

Adam, 49, then admitted he had thrown captain Baggy Green to a tennis match at Wimbledon.

‘I think I was one of those who wore the cap at Wimbledon too. But at least we will move on and learn from our mistakes, ‘Adam admitted.

Shane told him: ‘So I thought I would rock the flat cap out of respect for Cameron Green and Peaky Blinders. ‘
