Riot confirms that he is making a League of Legends MMO

League of Legends the Riot Games developer is working on a major online multiplayer game (MMO) in the League universe, Riot’s VP of IP and entertainment, Greg Street, tweeted on Thursday.

“My recent job at Riot is to help improve the world of the League, which we need!” Street said. “My new job is a big game (some might say really big) that a lot of you, and a lot of dissenters, have been asking us to create. If the word “massive” was not deliberately included in that quotation, in response to another Twitter user, Street confirmed the match is an MMO.

The new MMO is not entirely surprising, as Riot has been working until League hemisphere into games and other media so late. There is a riot on a League-themed card game and automated fighting machine. In 2021, the company plans to launch a mobile and token version of the main game, League of Legends: Wild Rift, and single-player spinoff, turn-based RPG for consoles and PC. An animated series, Arcane, also scheduled for 2021, and there are two League of Legends board games that add more meat to the oral tradition. Riot seems to follow the same formula as the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In fact, the studio was even in partnership with Marvel for League comic books.

Street working on it World of Warcraft for nearly six years, according to LinkedIn, so hopefully it can take some of that game ‘s content to such a new level League MMO.
