Tomorrow (Sunday, 21:45) the Israeli and Scottish teams will meet for the sixth time in two and a half years at Bloomfield Stadium as part of the second round of the World Cup qualifiers, with the team in blue and white looking for first points after the loss to Denmark. Even before the guest took off for Israel, Scotland national team coach Steve Clark spoke at noon about the spicy meeting at a press conference.
“I still do not know if I will make any changes to the squad. I will sleep on it and determine before the game,” he said Clark. “We all want to do our best and that is of course to win. If we beat Israel we will get a lot of confidence for the rest of the way. We believe we can win wherever we go.”
The coach went on to say: “I want us to represent a positive football against Israel, if we do that I believe we will achieve a good result. A long flight to Israel is waiting for us, so I hope the players can rest when we arrive.”
In conclusion Clark complimented the national team: “I think the game against Denmark was good, I think Israel is a good team that is slightly underestimated, but we do not do it. I think at this level any team can win so we will be ready.”
