“Despair”: What are the scenarios in which there may be a government? Fellow Faculty Presents • Watch

Who will receive the mandate? What government can be formed? Commentator Amit Segal on the tangle: “If Saar does not form a government supported by the common and Bennett does not form a government that relies on RAAM, why not set a convenient date for everyone for Round 5?”

Amit Segal, News 12’s senior political commentator, is beginning to get used to the possibility that Israeli citizens will go to the polls in the fifth election – if no one succeeds in forming the government in the current round.

On his Twitter account, Segal asked: “If Saar does not form a government that is supported by the common and if Bennett does not form a government that relies on RAAM, why not set a convenient date for everyone for round 5?”. He added one word: “despair.”

Apparently, next week Yair Lapid will receive the mandate to form a government. Today, Lapid met with Merav Michaeli, chairman of the Labor Party. The two decided to continue discussing ways to replace the “Netanyahu rule.”

Lapid is also expected to receive the recommendations of the Yisrael Beiteinu parties and the joint list. If Saar also recommends Lapid, he will receive the mandate from Rivlin.

However, Amit Segal noted that if the joint list does not recommend Lapid – Lapid will have a maximum of 51 recommenders, then Netanyahu will have 52 recommenders and therefore he will be the one to receive the mandate from Rivlin.
