When the Razer gaming lifestyle company unveiled its concept for the Hazel N95 front breathing project earlier this year at CES, it was only a few weeks since the first one corona-virus vaccines had been okay for emergency use. But even now, as thoughts about the future of post-release are starting to take shape, it looks like Razer will see a future for high-tech personal protective equipment.
Razer CEO Min-Liang Tan told Yahoo Finance this week that the Project Hazel mask is going to be a reality.
“We thought, this is a concept project and whether this is going to be relevant when vaccines and everything is rolled out,” Tan told the publication. ‘moving forward we have decided – and I can tell you now – that we are moving forward with its implementation and removing the fancy mask. “
“We have found, even with vaccines, that we are hearing that you need to be hidden because there is still the risk that you need to be very careful even if you are vaccinated,” Tan said, and said that many countries can still be a year or two off from full vaccination.
Tan did not say when the masks would go into production. Razer did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Hazel mask design A high-tech project it is surrounded at a prominent CES and has LED lights inside to see your mouth in low light. It uses regenerative filters and recirculating ventilation devices on its two breathing pods. You can adjust the amount of airflow, and the pods have audio processing algorithms to make your voice clearer and more natural.
The mask also features active ventilation and automation; a unique case that can be charged wirelessly; and UV sterilizer. And the pods light up rings that signify cost status.
