The suspect stole the chef’s wallet from his vehicle on Sunday, while parking at a gas station on Bethlehem Road in Jerusalem. Kadosh spotted the suspect as he stole his wallet from the car, confronted him and tried to stop him. The suspect forcibly pushed him to the floor – and a saint fell and was hit in the head.
MDA staff evacuated Chef Kadosh to Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital, where he is hospitalized in the neurosurgical department. Police forces who were called to the scene began searches – in an attempt to locate the suspect.
The name of Chef Kadosh is known in Israel and around the world. He immigrated to Israel at the age of 14 and grew up in Afula, a member of a family of nine children, and in 1967 he graduated from the “Yordei Yam” cooking school in Haifa – and began working as a cook on passenger ships and cargo ships. Kadosh has run festivals of Israeli food around the world, received the Hotel Decoration in 2005, in 2013 cooked the official dinner for former US President Barack Obama and in 2018 was awarded the title of Beloved of Jerusalem for his work.
