The launch of the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra is just around the corner. But just before its launch, a company official has unveiled the new battery technology that is being used in the upcoming high-end flagship smartphone.

Xiaomi’s Chief Product Marketing Manager and Global Spokesperson, Daniel D, shared a new detail about the Mi 11 Ultra on Twitter, earlier today (March 26, 2021). As official, the high-end handset features new high-speed silicon-oxygen anode battery technology. This new battery doesn’t offer many ‘Core’ benefits, like allowing the battery to be thinner, while at the same time being able to charge faster rates as well.
In addition, Daniel also said that this new battery technology is also similar to those used in electric vehicles, saying that it adds “nano scale silicon products to the negative electricity to increase the theoretical gram capacity of 10x vs graphite.In other words, the switch to a silicon-oxide anode battery would likely allow the Mi 11 Ultra from the Chinese tech giant to be able to carry more power while being able to charge faster.
Speaking of the device, it is Xiaomi’s latest clamshell phone. arrives with Snapdragon 888 chipset, LPDDR5 RAM, and UFS 3.1 storage. It also offers features like 67W fast rechargeable wire, 67W rechargeable fast charge, and 10W reverse rechargeable and is powered by a large 5,000mAh battery pack. It sports a 6.81-inch QHD + OLED screen with 120Hz refresh rate and an in-screen fingerprint sensor. The device is expected to launch on March 29, 2021 so keep an eye out for more updates.
