MADRID, March 26 (Reuters) – Spanish bank Caixabank expects to reach an agreement with trade unions on job cuts related to the merger with Bankia’s smaller rival by the end of the second quarter, CEO Gonzalo Gortazar said on Friday. “We plan to start talks with the unions after Easter … and close talks before the end of the second quarter,” he told reporters on Friday.

Gortazar declined to estimate how much work the bank plans to cut. (Reporting by Emma Pinedo, Editing by Inti Landauro, Ingrid Melander)
