Where are the “Gossip Girl” stars today?

For six seasons she introduced us to the intricacies of the teenage life of the elite East Side New York, and provided us with moments of contentment, humor, excitement and lots of style. Admittedly the later seasons no longer did kindness to her youth, but lo and behold, “Gossip Girl” (or “One Who Knows”, for the strict) did not escape the cloning machine either. A revival of the lush soap bar is set to come up next year on HBO Max, with new main characters and possibly even some guest appearances from the old ones. On the occasion of the event we are guessing that you would like to know – and especially to see, let’s really admit – where the good people, whom you know you loved, are today. Xoxo, beginners.

She was the middle blonde of “Gossip Girl”, the hot girl of the Constance Billiards school, and even took the work home and went out for three years with Penn Bedgley, aka Dan Humphrey. After the series went down, she turned her focus to the big screen (“Adeline’s Story,” “Restless Water,” “Mysterious Request”), but the role that surprisingly changed her life came in 2010. Towards the end of her and Badgley’s relationship, Lively played the lover of the superhero, Green Lantern, in the not-so-successful action movie. Whoever played him was a random guy, Ryan Reynolds, then still married to Scarlett Johansson.

From here on out it sounds like another episode of “Gossip”, at least something from the third season onwards – a year later Reynolds and Lively, who were still friends, found themselves free again. In a moment of weakness, they decided to go on a double date together – each with a different partner, and what happened next you can imagine on your own. A year later they got married in a secret ceremony and today they have three daughters. By the way, this week Reynolds mustered the courage to watch “Green Lantern” for the first time – a decade after it went on the screens, and did not miss an opportunity to reflect on the cinematic encounter with his wife (you can read the invested thread on Twitter).

This is no coincidence: Lively and Reynolds’ relationship, one of Hollywood’s favorite couples, is based, among other things, on mutual bites on the Internet – like the not-quite-successful photo series Reynolds posted on his Instagram account on the occasion of pregnant Blake’s birthday, or when she wondered why he didn’t invite her to the set. Of “Deadpool 2” on the only day Brad Pitt was photographed for the role. “My dad used to say, ‘If you do not have something good to say, say something embarrassing,'” Reynolds explains, and that’s how children keep relationships in Hollywood.

Whoever was Serena’s bestie / nemesis and more than once stole the show, Layton Mister, sent arms to a variety of fields after the series returned its soul to the Creator. Among other things, Mister starred in ABC’s “Single Parents” sitcom, and in FOX’s comedy Making History. She also hit Broadway and in 2014 even released her first album, Heartstrings, on her own label.

Mr. Mister, like Lively, married the crash of us all – Adam Brody, forever Seth Cohen of the OSC – an interesting coincidence given the fact that the creator of the OSC, Josh Schwartz, is also the one who created ” Gossip “a few years later. Just like Reynolds and Lively, Mister and Brody also met on a set of a movie (well, get a life, Blair), and a few years later we got married in a super secret ceremony. Today they have a daughter and a son and they take advantage of the free time they do not have for surfing.

He was a poor kid who joined the East Side gang, had lustful relationships with some of the girls and even – a spoiler – was revealed at the end of the series as Gossip Boy. You will surely be happy to know that the series took a considerable toll on him: he was the only male asked to have his chest hair removed during filming to complete Dan Humphrey’s delicate figure (the answer is shaving, by the way).

Badjelly Dee’s career melted away after “Gossip” with a few obscure movies, but recently he returned hugely thanks to the small screen, when he got the role of Joe, the sociopathic and charming killer in You, the hit Netflix series. Thankfully, in his real life in Degli he is anything but a sociopath. He is actually an activist and intellectual, a member of the Occupy Wall Street protest movement and an activist for LGBT rights, preserving the planet and generally wants everyone to be well. When he has time he also demonstrates musical skills with his band, MOTHXR, who released a single album in 2016 .

Badjali, who got his name from a tennis ball brand that his dad used to press when he was nervous, married in 2017 Domino Kirk (Jamaica Kirk’s sister, Jesse from “Girls”), who holds the professional skills of an actress, singer and doula. Before her, by the way, he dated for a few years with Zoe Kravitz, and if that’s not a trivial enough interesting detail, you’ll surely be happy to find out that every woman he’s ever dated has a song of his own.

The Golden Boy who had intersecting relationships with Blair and Serena in his TV debut, went on to soap “Black Gold” (Blood & Oil) and to the films Eloise and “All About Nina.” During the filming for “Gossip” the man and the baritone auditioned for Marvel’s Captain America but the crowded filming did not allow him to vacate the role.

He got a second chance as a superhero when he was chosen to play Kevin / The Depths in the “Boys” lawbreakers series, together with the Israeli pride, Tomer Kapon. In the romantic realm, Crawford dated Rebecca Rittenhouse (whom he met in “Black Gold”), for three years but broke up with her in 2019.

The manipulative and pampered British playboy, who came from money even relative to the rest of the characters, continued after the drop of “Gossip” to some mediocre movies (including the 2013 version of “Romeo and Juliet” with Haley Steinfeld) and series (like “Evil City”), but astonishment struck his fans When in 2017, in the midst of the MeToo revolution, three women accused him of sexual assault. The fourth woman, Christina Cohen, was exposed a year later in a Facebook post, where she claimed thatWestwick raped her Four years earlier.

Los Angeles police have opened an investigation following the allegations, with Westwick publishing its own post rejecting the allegations, a post it removed shortly thereafter. In July 2018 it became known that Westwick would not be prosecuted due to a lack of sufficient evidence and the statute of limitations, and for Hollywood that was enough to put a light brake on his career. Don’t worry, he is currently in a relationship with model Tamara Francesco and according to the social networks of both of them – they do not really suffer.

Momsen’s last role was that of Jenny Humphrey, Dan’s innocent sister who became a drug dealer and gave her virginity to Chuck Bass of all people, until she was forced to part ways with the series at the end of the fifth season. The young Momsen (she was 17 when she joined the cast) is seven from acting and after parting ways with “Gossip” she focused on her musical career as the lead singer of the band Pretty Reckless. In 2014 she released her second album with the band and made history – this was the first women’s band to reach the top of the radio charts with her first two singles.

Pretty Reckless also served as the opening performance of the late singer, Chris Cornell, until he died in 2017, causing Momsen to take a step back and crack in a period of isolation. If that wasn’t enough she also mourned her veteran producer who died in a motorcycle accident, less than a year later. “I was in a very unhealthy place,” she said in an interview, “in a pit of despair. I gave up life until I went back to making music.” This year, the band’s fourth album, with the unique name Death by Rock and Roll, is released.

On the fringes of the cast we will not forget Kelly Rutherford, who played Lily, Serena’s mother, who later won mostly small roles in series such as the reboot of “Dynasty” and “Virgin Jane”, while at the same time having to focus on a difficult custody battle with her ex-husband, the businessman German Daniel Girsht, from whom she divorced in 2013. Girsht managed to obtain full custody of their two children, but was forced to leave the United States due to immigration issues, and Rutford was forced to settle for visits to the New York-Monaco line, where her ex resides. It robbed her of so much money that she signed bankruptcy in 2013, making it even harder for her to visit her children, ages six and eight today.

A place of honor was also reserved for passive-aggressive queen Michelle Trachtenberg, whose job it was to degenerate Serena into a bad path every time she stumbled into the area. This included drugging Serena so she would miss her important tests, getting out of Eric’s closet and even getting pregnant (!) To convince Dan that the boy was his. Trachtenberg did not do much in the field of acting but won headlines last February when she stood alongside Charisma Carpenter, her colleague from the days of “Buffy the Vampire Slayer”, when she accused creator Joss Whedon of exploiting, cruelty and creating a toxic work environment. “What he did was very bad,” Trachtenberg added, “but we won because we survived.”

Matthew Stell, as I recall, played the protective father of Dan and Jenny and at times Lily’s partner, but since then “Gossip” has also unfortunately pretty much disappeared from the screens, except for a role in the horror film Ouija. But there is an Israeli angle here – to Stell, a daughter of his ex-wife, the model and reality show host, Naama Nativ. The two got married in secret because Stell was not sure that his parents, two conservative Christian Baptists, would accept the fact that he was marrying a Jew. They divorced a decade ago.
