Doctors – NBC 6 South Florida

Two doctors in South Florida have published a study into what is believed to be the first reported case of a baby born with COVID-19 antibodies after the mother received the vaccine.

Pediatricians Boca Raton, Dr Paul Gilbert and Dr Chad Rudnick, said the pregnant woman, a health care worker, received one dose of the Moderna vaccine in January.

Three weeks later, she gave birth to a healthy baby girl. The doctors said they tested the baby’s cord blood, which contained the antibodies COVID-19.

“We were fortunate that this was indeed an opportunity study. Because of the length of time this health care worker was able to get the first vaccine, it was early in the release of the vaccine,” he said. Rudnick. “The first issue to our knowledge reported in the worldwide literature was a baby born to a mother who had not been on Covid before and then vaccinated to see if they had antibodies.”

The doctors are at the final stage to formally publish their paper on the issue.
