Danny Willett has pulled out of the Players Championship after a positive test for Covid-19.

The 33-year-old Englishman now has to separate himself for 10 days.

American Kramer Hickok, the first substitute, has taken his place in the field at TPC Sawgrass, who will play alongside Patton Kizzire and Jason Dufner in both opening rounds.

World No 69 Willett was in action at the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill last week where he tied for 31st place.

He should be back in action for The Masters, which he won in 2016, with the first major release of the year starting on April 5th.
