The Professional Committee of the Judges’ Union continued last weekend in its procedure from the beginning of the season in which it details about the decisions of the VAR judges and addresses specifically their mistakes. Recall that there is no reference to events that are not within the jurisdiction of the screen referees and therefore it is assumed that many errors of judgment are not included in the report (for example the second yellow that was not removed from Mabuka after a foul on Orr Inbrom or the second yellow that was removed to Joshua who renewed the game .
The amount of mistakes
The discourse and arguments of the groups against the judgment have been rising recently and probably rightly so. The amount of mistakes the professional committee has admitted in its publications has risen dramatically over the course of the season. If in all 13 rounds of the first round there were a total of 9 critical errors, then in the second round (only 10 rounds passed), the committee has already admitted 12 mistakes! That is, an average increase from 0.7 errors in the cycle to 1.2 errors in the cycle.
If we refer only to the latest statement from the committee which says that 24 hours after the game between Hapoel Haifa and Maccabi Tel Aviv it has not yet made a decision whether the goal of Hapoel Haifa was rightly disqualified or not, it is easy to understand the criticism. “How do they expect judges who see the event on a small screen to make the right decision?”
Impact on the championship fight
In contrast to the situation in the table (on the eve of the 24th round) in which Maccabi Haifa leads, it actually closes the table of “earning” from errors of judgment. To date, four critical mistakes have been made against her against her compared to only one mistake in her favor. Maccabi Tel Aviv, on the other hand, enjoyed two errors of judgment this season (and possibly even 3 after the committee manages to decide on the disqualification of Hapoel Haifa’s goal by Sami Ofer), and is one of the few teams against which there was no error.
In terms of points, Maccabi Haifa was not harmed as all the mistakes against it, for which the committee took responsibility were made in the games in which it finished winning:
* Unjustly disqualification of Abu Fani’s goal against Betar Jerusalem in the first round
* A penalty that was not burned to its credit after the failure of Noble Omar against Hapoel Kfar Saba
* A penalty that was not burned to her credit after a hand touch on Hapoel Haifa in the derby game
* Penalty that was not burned to her credit after a foul on Donio in the away game against Betar Jerusalem Teddy.
On the other hand, the mistake in favor of Maccabi Tel Aviv led to two more points that could be critical in the championship fight. This is of course the penalty that was unfairly whistled in its favor in the 90th minute of the home game against Kiryat Shmona. A. In the first cycle.
The upheaval of Kiryat Shmona
Everyone remembers Izzy Shretzky’s claims against the referee at the start of the season. Things came to a boil after the penalty that was whistled for his team’s duty against Maccabi Tel Aviv and was accompanied by the unusual statement of the chairman of the referees’ union that “her heart aches for Kiryat Shmona” and she is angry at the mistakes she has made against her. In the union, things actually turned upside down in favor of the northern team: 3 mistakes were made to its credit, two reds that it should have received in its away games against Hapoel Haifa and Hadera and Pendel that should have been whistled against it in favor of Ashdod.
The most, the least
According to the committee, the team in which the most errors were made in its games is Maccabi Petah Tikva. No less than six critical mistakes (for both sides) were made in its games, despite the presence of VAR which was supposed to reduce almost zero errors. No mistakes were made in the Bnei Sakhnin games. Judgment.
The judge is most wrong
Veteran referee Liran Liani continues to lead in this category when in the games he managed, no less than six critical mistakes were made (about 30% of the total mistakes this season).
* Three reds that were not drawn by him – for Joshua in the game against Maccabi Netanya, and for the Hapoel Haifa and Kiryat Shmona players in the games against Betar Jerusalem and Hapoel Hadera respectively.
* Two penalties that he did not whistle – in favor of Maccabi Haifa in the derby game that is remembered mainly because of the violent event at the end and in favor of Maccabi Petah Tikva in the home game against Bnei Yehuda.
* A goal that was unjustly disqualified after a return ball by Abu Fani from Pendel at home against Betar Jerusalem.
