IDF blockers tried to invade Jordan Valley

Israeli troops early Monday stopped an attempted overnight offensive attack inside the Palestinian city of Jordan Valley.

According to an army spokesman, the suspect tried to stab one of the soldiers who entered the city of Tobas with the intention of arresting a wanted man.

The soldier pushed the suspect and shot the IDF commander at the scene of the attack, knocking him out.

The soldier is said to have been injured by a light hand and was treated on the spot.

Last week, a suspect was arrested a week earlier to stab a settler at a junction near the Israeli settlement at Yitzhar in the West Bank.

After a manhunt, the suspect was captured in the town of Salim near Nablus and taken for questioning by Israeli security forces.

On the day of the incident, Benjamin Cohen – a Yitzhar resident – was pulling away when he noticed a Palestinian approaching him and making a knife. Cohen countered the suspected terrorist, who escaped, and reported what had happened to the IDF.
