After introducing the XCover Pro and XCover FieldPro models, Samsung continues to look ahead and now introduces the deviceXCover 5. The new model in the series does not come to replace the XCover Pro model introduced at the beginning of the previous year, but to offer a slightly up-to-date alternative with weaker specifications and a more attractive price.
On the front of the new device is a size screen 5.3 inches, With a TFT LCD panel, + HD resolution and with large margins surrounding the display. The device’s selfie camera is located at the top edge, where we can notice the volume control buttons, the on and off button and the XCover button which is customizable and also works as a talkie for quick communication with co-workers.

In the performance segment is the Exynos 850 chipset, which is manufactured in an 8-nanometer process and includes 8 Cortex-A55 cores at a maximum frequency of 2 GHz. The multitasking will hold 4GB of working memory, along with 64GB of storage. The operating system at the front is Android 11, with Samsung’s user interface on it. The battery behind the scenes comes with a capacity of 3000 mAh, Which supports fast charging via a USB Type-C connector, is removable and can also be charged using a pair of dedicated pins.

The camera array on the back of the device includes a 16-megapixel main sensor with an f / 1.8 aperture key, while the selfie camera on the front offers access to a 5-megapixel resolution via an f / 2.2 aperture key. Using the selfie camera, a standard facial scan can also be performed to open the device, with the latter’s body resistant to falls in the MIL-STD810H standard and to water and dust in the IP68 standard for water protection up to a depth of 1.5 meters for half an hour. Also in the package we will also receive NFC support and the arrival of versions that support one SIM card or a pair of SIM cards (depending on the country).
