Apple seems to be on the verge of discontinuing the iMac Pro, with the source page for the all-in-one high-end Mac including the “As long as supplies last” tagline and just the default model custom to buy.
The iMac Pro was launched in December 2017, and while there have been a few tweaks to the available configurations over the years, it hasn’t received any major hardware updates across the board. life. As a result, we’ve been proposing for a while that consumers not to purchase the iMac Pro as a high-end iMac currently offers better value.
There have been a few rumors about an updated iMac Pro over the years, including from analyst Ming-Chi Kuo almost just a year ago.
It’s unclear whether the iMac Pro is fully discontinued or whether Apple is selling through existing stock before an update, but the curious note about declining supply ‘suggest that the machine may be shut down completely. If an updated version is coming, it looks like it may not be ready for launch for some time yet and there may be a gap when the current model sells out.
