Bandai Namco Sparks Rumors Of Nintendo Direct-Style Showcase With New Trademark

Nintendo found a winner when it started its Nintendo Direct broadcasts nearly 10 years ago. By displaying information about upcoming games in an online demo, it offered a format that was truly accessible, and we didn’t see the end of competitors trying out their own versions. Inside Xbox, Ubisoft Forward, Sony State of Play … the list goes on, and (pun intended) Bandai Namco could be the next thing.

“Bandai Namco Next” is a new trademark registered on December 29 by the European Union Intellectual Property Office. There is a long list of covers, but outside of games, that mainly includes online publications, eSports contests, computer networks, movies and toys.

No trademarks essential means that nothing happens, but profitability is also encouraged by Elden Circle trailer released online yesterday. Given the upcoming restructuring at Bandai Namco in April, it is possible that incoming president Masaru Kawaguchi is also seeking a new approach.

Certainly there is potential in such an idea, if the company goes ahead with it. When you remember that Bandai Namco package covers copyrights like Combat Ace, Dark souls, Digimon, Pac-Man, Soulcalibur and Tekken, we would be curious to see what is planned.
