Rachel Lindsay deletes Instagram after her tragic interview with Chris Harrison

Rachel Lindsay has blacked out her Instagram after receiving a lot of ‘rude and hateful’ comments from abusive Bachelor fans.

The move comes two weeks after her controversial interview with Bachelor host Chris Harrison, who made the decision to step away from the show after defending Rachael Kirkconnell’s racist behavior in the past tense.

On Friday, her Higher Education co-host, Van Lathan, revealed the 35-year-old Bachelorette was ‘disabled’ due to hard harassment.

‘She did that because that’s how much she gets from Bachelor fans who spam her with all sorts of obscene and hateful things to say,’ the podcaster, 40, said in Instagram video.

He continued: ‘Y’all must get af ** a king’s life. Seriously. ‘

‘Rachel is not responsible for Chris Harrison, a 49-year-old who can’t read the room in these 2021 times. She’s not responsible for that, ‘Lathan shot. ‘Her job is not to make excuses or cover up to someone who doesn’t understand what the f ** ka is inspiring people in today’s world. No. You are going after the wrong person. ‘

Lathan, then, asked Harrison exactly if he was okay with people getting at Rachel to the point that she can’t even be on IG. ‘

After Lindsay’s interview with Harrison, he went on fire for minimizing Kirkconnell’s big activities in the past, including attending an antebellum party on a plantation in 2018.

Kirkconnell apparently enjoyed a number of offensive social media posts with Confederate flags, racist outfits and friends with Make America Great Again hats favored by supporters of former President Donald Trump.

Lindsay made previous history as the first Black Bachelorette in 2017.

Last week, she announced that she wanted to be finished with the Bachelor franchise and would cut ties with the group as soon as her contract was over on her podcast.

‘As far as I’m concerned, I’m tired. I’m tired. I’ve had enough, ‘she said. I had the whole reason for making the Bachelorette – and I was lucky that it worked out for me in the most beautiful way, in finding [husband] Bryan [Abasolo] – did I want to be representative as a Black woman to this audience. And I wanted to plan the route so that more people could have this opportunity, ‘she said.

‘In some ways, that has happened. I wanted the franchise to be better. I have a loving relationship with him. I am attached to it. ‘

She said: ‘What more do I want to be involved in this? What can I take of things like this? I said I would leave if they didn’t have lead of dye. Okay, they did that, and they made other changes. They were hiring a diversity advisor. … Didn’t Chris Harrison sit through that? ‘

After Harrison ‘s controversial interview with Lindsay, almost every contestant from the current Bachelor season shared the same message as their social media accounts standing in close contact with Lindsay.

‘We are the women of Bachelor Season 25. Twenty-five women celebrating as BIPOC were thrown on this historic season that was going to represent change,’ the statement began.

‘We are deeply disappointed and want to make it clear that we are denying any protection from racism,’ he continued. Any defense to racist behavior undermines the living and ongoing experiences of BIPOC individuals. These experiences should not be exploited.

‘Rachel Lindsay continues to advocate with “grace” for people who identify as BIPOC within this franchise,’ the women concluded. ‘Just because she’s talking louder, doesn’t mean she’s alone. We stand with her, we hear her, and we plead for change with her. ‘

In particular, Kirkconnell also shared the statement in support of Lindsay.

She also apologized on social media.

‘At one time, I did not recognize how offensive and racist I was, but that does not excuse them,’ she wrote. ‘My age or when it happened is no excuse. They are not allowed or okay in any way. I was ignorant, but my ignorance was racist. ‘
