LONDON: There are reported reports that people with COVID are long overdue for amazing recovery after receiving the vaccine and that formal studies should be followed, according to scientists.
While most recover quickly from COVID-19, about one in 10 people experience symptoms that include muscle weakness, headaches and shortness of breath. months later – so – called COVID long.
But some of these patients report rapid improvements in their health after receiving the vaccine, doctors have said.
“This is a very interesting observation that could be important,” said Charles Bangham, who holds the chair in immunology at Imperial College London. “Right now these are just small news stories, and would require systematic reviews, but sometimes news can tell the way to important findings.”
Prof. Ian Hall, who runs a long-distance COVID clinic in Nottingham, said he was suspected by several patients who told him his symptoms had worsened after an injection.
It is possible, he said, that the vaccine provides some people with a “psychological stimulus” that makes them feel better.
“But I think, interestingly, there’s enough here to say that the vaccine could have some interesting consequences, apparently altering the immunological balance, which impact of low – grade inflammation resolution, which makes people feel better, “he said.
“I wouldn’t go so far as to say that it proves a connection, but science is based on pursuing interesting ideas.”
The World Health Organization has warned that the burden of COVID is far from “real” and “significant.”
King’s College London is running a project monitoring 600,000 people who have received COVID-19 vaccines.
Lead scientist of the study Tim Spector said he hopes to get data on how vaccines affect COVID long within weeks.
