“Rocky’s Experiences”: Abdia’s dismal evening summary

Beginning of an article

Rocky’s season in the NBA is like a roller coaster, and today (Wednesday) Danny Abdia found himself down. 24 hours after scoring 8 important points in the win over the Los Angeles Lakers and feeling on the roof of the world, Abdia got into an offense problem, played 11 minutes and did not score a single point in the 135: 116 loss to the Clippers.

“Against the Clippers Abdia has amassed the complete rookie experience,” NBC Washington wrote. “One day you stop LeBron James and the next day you commit three fouls in four minutes. Fortunately, Garrison Matthews and Isaac Bonga contributed in the forward position, so Abdia’s weak evening did not affect the team too much and the price was not heavy.”

“These are experiences that every Rocky goes through, in such a different way,” they continued. “The NBA is a completely different animal from any league in the world and it takes at least a year or two to adapt to it. The only thing the Rockies can do is learn from one game and move on to the other game, because that second game usually comes a day or two apart.” The U.S. capital emphasized: “Abdia has already done a lot of things that made the Wizards feel good about choosing him in the first round.”

At the pre-match press conference, team coach Scott Brooks once again praised Abdia’s defense, and after the game his attention shifted to Davis Bartens who scored 6 points in 26 minutes. “He has to take more than four shots in 26 minutes, and that’s my responsibility,” he said. “My job is to find him free looks.”

Mo Wagner (21 points) who was a big part of the Wizards’ comeback attempt in the third quarter, simply summed up the loss: “We played against the Clippers. They’re really, really good.” The Clippers will hope to continue the momentum Thursday through Friday at Memphis, with Washington hosting Denver at the same time.
