Hadar Goldin’s fiancée is engaged again

Six and a half years after the fall of the late Hadar Goldin in Rafah, tonight (Monday) his fiancée, Edna Seroussi, announced that she was engaged again to her partner, Nahum.

Hadar Goldin, who last week celebrated his 30th birthday, fell on Black Friday in a battle with terrorists in Rafah, and his body was abducted by them into a tunnel. The commander of the Givati Regiment, Banya Sarel and the soldier Liel Gideoni also fell in the incident. For the past six years, Edna Seroussi has been at the forefront of the struggle to free Hadar Goldin’s body from Hamas captivity.

Shortly after the tragedy, Seroussi told Israel Today in an interview: “I accepted the laws of mourning, even though we were not married. The wedding and life with Hadar is a dream, let it remain a dream.”

“Unfulfilled love has its own pain, I do not know, maybe it is harder than losing a husband,” she said at the time. “When we talked about the threat of kidnappings, Hadar told me that he would fight to the end, that he would not let them take him alive in captivity. I know he fought until the last minute. He was killed for something he believed in, for the defense of the homeland.”
