Luis Alberto Celebrates (Reuters)
The 23rd round of the Italian league continues tonight (Saturday) with three games. Lazio are back on the winning track, after stumbling in a 3-1 loss to Inter in the previous round, with a small and important 0-1 at home to Sampdoria. In addition, Genoa extorted a dramatic 2: 2 from Verona in the 95th minute. The games, like all Italian league games, were broadcast on channel ONE2 to yes subscribers, HOT Cellcom TV and Partner TV.
Lazio – Sampdoria 0: 1
The Eagles have actually temporarily moved up to fourth place in the table at the expense of Juventus, who will play later in the round and be able to return to the top four. Lazio are still very strong in the fight for a ticket to the Champions League and managed to recover after a less than good season opener. On the other hand, Sampdoria will remain in tenth place even at the end of the cycle.
In the 24th minute Sergei Milinkovic-Savic found the excellent Luis Alberto, who again made the difference for Lazio with an important goal, which in the end was also the winning goal for the Blues from Rome. The connection with the sixth goal of the season in the league.
Genoa – Verona 2: 2
What a tremendous drama we got. The visitors were on their way to victory but in the 95th minute Genoa managed to squeeze a super tense point. It started with a goal by Ivan Ilyich (17) who gave Verona an advantage, Eldor Shomorodov equalized (49), but Davida Faroli again arranged the lead for the visitors (61). Verona had already seen the full points, but Milan Badley thought otherwise and with the first goal of the season, in the 95th minute, set a points distribution.
In light of the result, Genoa temporarily retained 11th place in the table which it could lose until the end of the round. Verona, on the other hand, failed to pass Sasuolo at least temporarily on their way to eighth place in the table.
Sassuolo – Bologna 1: 1
In the last game of the day, Sesuolo lost two points at home despite playing against 10 Bologna players for 70 minutes, and missed an opportunity to get closer to the top team. The visitors from the bottom of the table took a surprising advantage in the 17th minute from a Roberto Soriano goal from Musa Barrow’s header after a series of errors in Sesotho’s defense, but in the 30th minute she found herself in a numerical disadvantage after young defender Aron Hickey saw a direct red card after a dangerous game. Francesco Caputo equalized for the hosts in the 52nd minute, but more than that Sesuolo failed to do despite more and more attempts and she remained in eighth place with 35 points, one more than Verona. Thanks to the draw, Bologna climbed one place, to 12th place, with 25 points.
