Married to First Sight ditch desperate wannabes for ‘real’ partners

Married At First Sight is blaming the celebrity seekers this season for favoring ‘real’ partners.

Speaking to The Age, executive producer John Walsh said they made an effort this year to find a bride and groom who wasn’t just on display to grow their Instagram following.

‘There was a perception that some participants were not real,’ he told the publication.

‘As we tossed this season, we were clear that we wanted people who were passionate in their quest for love and I believe we achieved that,’ he continued.

There’s still drama this season but it’s more organic; it comes from the natural interplay between the couples and within the group. ‘

Most of the participants this year are in their 30s, replacing their 20s like last season.

One of the weddings, Belinda, never had a boyfriend and she was only ever on the three dates of her life.

Another bride, Beth, 39, fears she will not fall in love before she is forty.

The brides include James, 44, and mechanic Russell, 37, who are separated.

The new season of Married At First Sight is expected to launch in a few days.

In an explosive teaser trailer for the highly anticipated series, the bride has the final moments before the lawyers marry.

On Thursday, Channel Nine shared the same cringeworthy lines that the gaggle stunners said before tying the knot, with one even exploding with: ‘I believe in vibes at first look! ‘

Meanwhile, sales employee Beth Moore said: ‘I hope he thinks … wow! She is beautiful. ‘

‘I’m so confident in who I am, and I know what I need,’ and blonde beauty Samantha Jayne gushed.

Others were more emotional when they went over to the party in their wedding gowns.

The elegant new addition asks all contestants about their sex life, in an effort to build the bond between couples.

She replaces former expert Dr Trisha Stratford, who last year announced she was leaving the franchise after seven seasons.

Alessandra will join Mel Schilling and John Aiken on the 2021 expert panel.
