Pfizer: It is not necessary to store the vaccines at a temperature of 70 degrees

Pfizer today (Friday) contacted the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and updated that according to new data in its possession, it is not necessary to store the vaccine doses in a cold temperature of 70 degrees Celsius. According to the data presented to the FDA, the vaccines can be stored. Even at temperatures ranging from 15 to 25.

Once the new data is approved by the FDA, significant logistical relief is expected in the storage and transport of vaccines. Today, under the vaccine storage limit at a temperature of 70 degrees, high and complicated logistical means are required for storing and transporting the vaccines. For example, it is possible to transport the vaccines to the homes of people with limited mobility, who have difficulty reaching the main vaccination complexes – something that is currently not possible with Pfizer’s vaccine.

The new data presented by Pfizer will require the approval of other pharmaceutical organizations around the world, such as the European Organization. In the next two weeks, the FDA is expected to conduct an experiment on its behalf on the matter, at the end of which it will be decided whether to finally approve the new directive.

In addition, this morning a study was published by Sheba Hospital in Tel Hashomer, according to which one dose of Pfizer vaccine may be sufficient to achieve a high level of immunity to the virus. According to the experiment, one dose of vaccine gives an immunity level of about 85% after 28-15 days.
