The quarter-finals of the Champions League are being held at this time, providing the first of two games in which Jürgen Klopp’s fading Liverpool are hosted in Germany for a duel against the fiery RB Leipzig on the ticket to the next stage in Europe’s prestigious factory.
The Mighty Reds come after losing height in the Premier League when they recorded 3 consecutive losses, and apparently gave up the journey of retaining the championship title in practice, at least that’s what Klopp admitted after the breakup at 3-1 to Leicester. But, the positive side of the whole story is that the English champion can now concentrate on the prestigious factory in Europe and try to recreate the achievement from 2019 and swing the trophy again with the big ears.
On the other hand, Julian Ngelsman’s team arrives hot after four consecutive victories in all competitions and is strong in the Bundesliga championship picture. The German momentum will try to leverage the positive momentum and take advantage of the guest’s poor ability to get the ticket to the quarterfinals.
This is the first official meeting in history between the two groups. As you may recall, Liverpool qualified for the quarter-finals when they finished at the top of House 4 with 13 points, while Leipzig qualified from House 8 from second place with 12 points when they knocked out Manchester United.
