Danny Abdia vs. Houston (Reuters)
Washington (17: 8) – Houston (16:11) 119: 131
The Israeli rookie, Danny Abdia, took part in just 20 minutes in the Wizards’ other victory, which after the impressive result against Boston, managed to look good once again against the ex John Wall. Only Garrison Matthews who started in the top five and got just 12 minutes in the end, played fewer minutes than Avdia whose contribution to the game totaled 20 minutes, 5 points and 3 rebounds. Matthews and Abdia were also the only ones to finish the game without scoring in double digits, a figure that seven Washington players have managed to achieve.
Bradley Bill led them all with 37, Davis Bartens added 18, Russell Westbrook provided a triple-double of 16 points, 15 assists and 13 rebounds and also Roy Hachimura (13 and 9 rebounds), Robin Lopez (12) and Raul Neto ( 12) gave good output. The Rockets, for their part, suffered a 16 loss this season and Wall who met his former teammates was the standout player on the team with 29 points and 11 assists but he scored on 10 of 26 from the field, 1 of 7 off the arc and even recorded 5 turnovers. David Navawa added 19 points and 11 rebounds, Jason Tate scored 18 and Donnell House Jr. 17.
Utah (5:23) – Philadelphia (10:18) 123: 134
The Jazz did not stop and their tremendous season continued with another win over a strong team, although the Sixers played without Joel Ambide who suffered from back pain. Jordan Clarkson with 40 points, 13 of 20 from the field and 8 of 13 from outside the arc, led Utah with a particularly impressive display in just 29 minutes on the floor. Donovan Mitchell added 24, Joe Ingles 20 and 5 assists one of which placed him seventh all-time in the team’s assist morale. On the other hand, Ben Simmons provided a career-high 42 points with 15 of 26 from the field and 0 threes (not tried at all), along with 12 assists and 9 rebounds. Tobias Harris contributed 36 and 10 rebounds, but the wonderful performance of these two, was not enough against the best team in the NBA this season.
New York Knicks (15:14) – Atlanta (16:11) 112: 123
The Knicks continue their good season and this time it happened a lot thanks to one man – Julius Randall. The power forward is in a tremendous period and against the Hawks he has sniped 44 points with 14 of 22 from the field and no less than 7 threes from 13 attempts. He also had 9 rebounds, 5 assists and he scored more than twice as much as the Knicks’ best player on the field after him – RJ Barrett who finished with 21. Rookie Isaiah Quickley added 16 from the bench and Alfred Peyton scored another 12 when they were the only four on the double-digit team In terms of points. Trey Young with 23 points led Atlanta but scored just 6 of 19 from the field, Clint Capella was good with 15 points and 18 rebounds.
Indiana (14:14) – Chicago (15:11) 120: 112
Zack Lavine is trying to prove this season that he’s not just a great scorer. Against the Pacers he showed that his trend of improvement this season continues and after scoring 12 points from his 30 in the final quarter, he picked up his defensive game and helped the Bulls win away in overtime and break a ten-game losing streak against Indiana. Along with his 30 points he also had 9 rebounds, 3 assists and he was of course the leading scorer of the team. Kobe White added 19, Garrett Temple 16 and on the other side the Pacers got 25 from Demontes Savonis (10 rebounds) and 23 from Malcolm Brogdon (15 rebounds).
Sacramento (15:12) – Brooklyn (12:17) 136: 125
An easy win for the Nets who saw the Kings come back in the fourth quarter from a 22-point deficit, but kept the win thanks to performances by Kyrie Irving with 40 points (15 of 22 from the field, 9 of 11 from outside the arc) and James Harden with a triple-double 29 points, 14 assists and 13 rebounds. The Kings were led by Hassan Whiteside with 26 points and 16 rebounds from the bench.
Golden State (13:15) – Cleveland (19:10) 98: 129
Steph Kerry again scored over 30 points, this time 36 with 13 of 19 from the field and 7 of 11 off the arc, Drymond Green equaled his career high with 16 assists and the Warriors recorded their 15th win of the season. The Cubs were led by Colin Sexton with 23 points, in a game in which Andre Drummond who is due to leave is not a partner at all.
Clippers (8:21) – Miami (16:11) 118: 125
A very worrying loss to a hit that failed to beat the team from Los Angeles that arrived without its three main players – Kwai Leonard, Paul George and Nicolas Batum. In their absence, Marcus Morris excelled with 32 points, Ivica Zovac added 22 points, Lou Williams 18 and 10 assists and Terence Mann scored 15 points just like Amir Kofi. Miami was led by Jimmy Butler with a triple-double of 30 points, 10 assists and 10 rebounds, while Advio added 27 and 12 rebounds alongside 7 assists and Tyler Harrow also scored 27, which was still not enough.
