Ashdod Sports Club announced today (Tuesday) the signing of team coach Ran Ben Shimon on a new and binding contract for a period of 3.5 seasons. The new agreement does not allow departure to another club in the country or overseas during the term of the agreement. The parties put an end to recent rumors regarding the lack of clarity regarding the professional future of the coach, who was first wanted by the Israeli team and later by Hapoel Beer Sheva
“Ran’s signing for the coming years indicates the great professional appreciation there is for Ran Ben Shimon, both for the management and for the players and fans, who undoubtedly proves that he is the most worthy,” the club’s official statement read.
After the signing he said Ben Shimon: “I would like to begin by thanking Jackie Ben Zaken and Meir Almoznino for trusting and choosing the common path. I feel they brought me not only to their club, not only to their home, but also to their hearts. The connection from day one with team owners “I’m focused and looking forward to the great challenges we face along the way.”
