Kratzb. A story from the legends (Reuters)
Aslan Kratzb Continues to amaze the world of tennis. This morning (Tuesday) the Russian tennis player, whom Israel missed, advanced to the semi-finals of the Australian Open with a four-set victory over the Bulgarian Gregor Dimitrov – 6: 2, 4: 6, 1: 6 and 2: 6.
The 27-year-old Kratzb (114 in the world) advanced to the tournament from the qualifiers and is not considered a familiar name, certainly not a potential to reach the semifinals. Experienced Dimitrov won in the first set, but from there Kratsev dominated every aspect, achieved a break and had no difficulty in the fourth set with 2: 6. In the semi-finals he will face a much higher hurdle – Novak Djokovic or Sasha Zebrav.

“It’s an amazing feeling,” Kratzb said after the game. “Of course this is my first time at the Grand Slam, first time in a half, amazing. It was tricky. I tried to find a way to play and found in the third act. “
Women: Osaka in the semifinals
Naomi Osaka, ranked 3, had no trouble facing 35-year-old Taiwanese Suwa Wei, defeating her 2-6 and 2-6 en route to the semifinals. Osaka recorded a 12th straight Grand Slam victory and kept a clean sheet from losses in the quarterfinals. In the semifinals she will meet the winner between Serena Williams and Simona Halp.
