“Davis is unlikely to return before the All-Star”

Beginning of an article

Those were some particularly stressful hours for Lakers fans in particular, and NBA fans in general – but it looks like one can breathe a sigh of relief. Anthony Davis, who was injured last night (Sunday through Monday) against Denver in what would have been an Achilles injury, is suffering from a stretch in the market and is likely to return in about three weeks. The bad news is that he will probably miss the All-Star.

As you may recall, Davis went downstairs to the locker room after a bad footing. He came into the game with pain in his right Achilles, and the injury was in exactly the same place. It was later revealed that he was suffering from swelling in this area. According to a report by ESPN’s senior correspondent Adrian Wojnerowski, the star underwent an MRI to verify the severity of the injury – and it turned out to be a stretch in the market.

Once he returns to Los Angeles, Davis will undergo another condition assessment and at the end of his recovery time (three weeks) he will be tested again. One way or another, Vogue is confident: “It’s most likely that Davis will not return until after the All – Star break.”

For the Lakers this is no easy blow, as Davis takes the team on his back along with LeBron James. Without him, the team from LA lost last night to Denver and broke a streak of seven wins. The Lakers are in second place in the West, with Davis counting 22.5 points per game so far alongside 8.4 rebounds and 3 assists.
