Maccabi Rishon Lezion, the newcomer to the state cup final, recorded a significant strengthening today (Monday) for the second half of the season: Jeremy Fargo signed a contract with Guy Goodes’ team until the end of the season and will be the fifth foreigner on the roster. “We are delighted to have a player on the scale of Jeremy and believe he will bring us a lot of experience, leadership and abilities,” Goodes said.
Fargo, as mentioned, will be Maccabi Rishon Lezion’s fifth foreigner, and the two existing guards – Isaiah Taylor and Trey Lewis – will remain part of Goodes’ squad. Meaning: Rishon Lezion is expected to rotate from game to game.
Maccabi Rishon Lezion will be Fargo’s fourth stop in Israel, after previously playing for Hapoel Gilboa / Galil, Maccabi Tel Aviv and Hapoel Jerusalem, in the media he finished the previous season – with a 32-point display in the semifinals against the same Maccabi Rishon Lezion.
The 34-year-old Fargo, who has not actually played since the end of the previous season, will join Goodes, who coached him in the 2014/15 season at Maccabi Tel Aviv. He holds 4 Israeli championships, one with Gilboa / Galil and 3 with Maccabi Tel Aviv. He is of course expected to participate in the cup final against Maccabi Tel Aviv.
