The 23rd round of La Liga today (Saturday) provided a fascinating encounter in which the leading Atletico Madrid, hosted by Granada, won 1: 2 and scored 3 points that increased the gap at the top to 8 points, at least temporarily, from city rival Real Madrid. The game, like all Spanish league games, was broadcast on Channel ONE for HOT subscribers, yes subscribers, Cellcom TV and Partner TV.
Diego Simeone’s side who dropped precious points in the previous round in the dramatic 2-2 draw against Salta Vigo managed to get back on the winning track by tying a ninth win in 8 games and widening the gap between Real Madrid (8 points) and Barcelona (11 points). Also, the table leader has another missing game that could further widen the gap and seems to be on the right track to the championship.
On the other hand, Diego Martinez’s Andalusians had hoped to find sweet revenge for the 6-1 draw in the previous round, but they are in negative momentum and are recording a fifth game without a win (three draws and two losses) as they are in eighth place with 30 points in an unstable season.
The drama started in the second half when Marcus Jornetta scored first in the 64th minute for Atletico, the advantage held only 2 minutes when Angel Herrera equalized for the host, but the table leader who continues to show character, managed to get 3 precious points thanks to a winning goal by Angel Correa in the 75th minute.
