A brother was attacked last night (Thursday) in the emergency department at Assaf Harofeh by a patient who needed a corona examination.
“I came to take her corona examination before hospitalization, and then she punched me in the head and back, spat on me and shattered my glasses. I grabbed her hands so she would stop hitting me and then her escort, apparently a family member, jumped on me, pushed me and hit me in the head. “He also photographed my employee card to complain. Nurses who witnessed the incident helped me fend off the escort until security personnel arrived,” said the brother who was attacked.
He added: “I was afraid that her family would attack me again at night. This situation does not make sense.”
Shaul Skiff, chairman of the Hospitals Division of the Histadrut Brothers and Sisters, commented on the incident: “The violence that exists in society is directed against the brothers and sisters who have been abandoned by the state, in the first line, in routine and emergency. The state continues to pull its hands and roll responsibility, instead “Defense and manpower. Shame and disgrace that we have been pursuing for years, and they are taking advantage of the dedication of the brothers and sisters who stand at the forefront, without giving them backing and security.
