Tom Brady has reportedly been playing through discomfort on his knee for most of the 2020 season
Tom Brady is expected to undergo minor surgery to “clean” an issue with his knee following the success of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Super Bowl.
According to multiple reports, the 43-year-old played through most of the 2020 season with minor discomfort on his knee and will have routine surgery to treat the condition.
After winning the Super Bowl over the Kansas City Chiefs, the Bucs head coach Bruce Arians described the procedure as “clean-up”.

Brady confirmed after Sunday ‘s win that he has no plans to call time on his career yet, saying: “We’re coming back, you already know.”
Brady finished game 21 of 28 on Sunday night passing for 201 yards and three touchdowns, two of which went to Rob Gronkowski to make the most advanced mix in playoff history.

Mahomes gets toe surgery

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes was scheduled to undergo toe surgery Wednesday after losing a Super Bowl LV, according to the NFL Network.
Mahomes was set for surgery to repair a torn plantar fascia plate in his thumb, NFL Network Insider Ian Rappaport said.

Last year’s Super Bowl MVP has been playing through the injury, often referred to as toe turf, since winning the regional tour over the Cleveland Browns last month.
The recovery will take several months but Mahomes, 25, is expected to recover fully, Rappaport said.
Mahomes refused to blame his thumb injury – that left him a limpet for most of the Super Bowl – for the case against the Bucs.
Sunday’s Super Bowl loss was the first time Mahomes and the Chiefs were beaten by more than a score in their three-year NFL career.
