Valheim is a comprehensive game that requires players to collect as much as they can and deposit it to a limited investment space. That means some things have to be taken out when players are out exploring and when they don’t have extra storage.
From the beginning, the basic number of deposits is 300. That number works mostly, but it’s only a matter of time before players run out of space on a tour. Later in the game, in the Black Forest biome, Haldor can offer an upgrade that will give players 450 deposit space. Until then, players have to make the most of that space, and getting rid of too many items is part of the survival process.
How to destroy or dispose of items in your Valheim inventory
Valheim is a game in early reach, which means that some features are missing, despite the fact that they may be an obvious addition. One of those features is a real destruction option, for products that players no longer want.
Instead, players are left with a few different options to work around the lack of a destroy button. The first way is to simply lower the objects in water. It is the fastest solution and requires the least effort. But a water source is not always readily available for players to let in unwanted gear.
That makes the second more useful option, which is to split the stack of an object in Valheim. This method is best for preserving as much material as possible, but it is highly dependent on other players being separated from them. When a deposit space is full, a stack of material splits, and can be distributed to other players in the world. It works well as long as they are willing to keep a few extra things.
To split a stack, players simply need to open the opening board and select what they want to split. Then, press move and click on the stack. Anything in the stack is automatically split in half, but a slider also appears that allows for more accurate numbers.
The last way to delete an item in Valheim is to use the token commands and essentially use an external source. Players can drop everything they decide needs to go down, and hit F5 to bring up the console command window. The first type of “imacheater” followed by removerops to erase everything on the ground.
Until a real way of erasing things is added to Valheim, these methods are the best bet.
