Josh Hart and Willy Hernangomez doubled off the bench as the New Orleans Pelicans defeated the Houston Rockets 130-101 goalkeeper Tuesday night.
Hart had 20 points and 17 senior rebounds, while Hernangomez had 14 points and 10 rebounds. Brandon Ingram scored 22, Zion Williamson got the trick on a false try to score in 21 minutes, Lonzo Ball and Eric Bledsoe had 15 as the Pelicans won their fourth consecutive game.
John Wall scored 25 goals, Eric Gordon 23, Jaesean Tate and Danuel House Jr. 13 each and Sterling Brown 11 to lead the Rockets, who lost for the fourth time in five games.
New Orleans started the third quarter with a 9-3 run to open the 72-53 lead, but Williamson went to the bench after promising his deceptive fourth with 8:18 left in that time.
The Pelicans extended the lead to 82-62 on a 3-point Ball halfway through their quarter.
The Rockets scored the next nine points before Kira Lewis Jr. responded. the layup.
Houston scored the next five points for an 84-76 inside draw, but the Pelicans maintained a 92-81 lead at the end of that period.
New Orleans scored the first four points of the fourth quarter. The Rockets went twice within 10 points but got nothing closer.
Williamson went to the bench after making his second goal with 9:41 left in the first quarter and was the only Pelicans starter not to score as they overcame 14-10.
House got five points when the Rockets took the 21-18 lead before Williamson returned late in the quarter-hour.
Williamson scored six points and was helped as New Orleans led 30-25 at the end of the first. He added four quick points to start the second season before heading to the bench again after promising his third goal with 10:07 left in that time.
Houston got inside one point, but Hart scored 10 points through a 17-0 run that gave the Pelicans a 61-43 lead.
PJ Tucker’s basket finished the run, and the Rockets cut the lead to 63-50 at halftime.
