The Corona Cabinet this evening (Tuesday) approved the outline of the partial and gradual opening of the education system starting this coming Thursday.
According to the outline, in the first phase, the kindergartens and grades 1-4 will be opened in green and yellow localities. Returning to the educational institutions in these strata will also take place in the orange authorities, whose traffic light score is less than 6.5 and the rate of those vaccinated among those aged 50 and over is at least 70%. In red authorities more open educational activities are allowed in groups of up to ten students (including a teacher).
The partial return to studies will take place as part of the first beat of the exit plan, parts of which came into effect as early as yesterday. As part of this beat, the distance limit from homes and the ban on staying in another person’s home were lifted, one-on-one business activities were allowed and workplaces without an audience were opened. Food was also allowed to be collected from restaurants (takeaways), and nature reserves and national parks were opened to the public. The corona projector, Prof. Nachman Ash, presented at the meeting the following pulses, the transition between which should take place in accordance with defined indices of the rates of vaccinators in the population, the number of critically ill patients and the coefficient of infection (R).
As part of the second phase, whose estimated deadline is February 23, grades 5-6 and 11-12 will return to school in green and yellow localities, as well as in borderline orange authorities where more than 70% are vaccinated. In the field of commerce, street shops will be allowed to open without the need for a green label. The opening of malls, gyms, cultural and sports events, museums and exhibitions, libraries and hotels will only be possible under the green light conditions. The implementation of this pulse is conditional on meeting the following indices: three million vaccinated in a second dose, more than 90% vaccinated among those aged 50 and over, a coefficient of infection less than 1, and less than 900 critically ill patients.
The third pulse, which is scheduled to take place on March 9, will also return students in grades 7-10 in the green and turtle localities, as well as in borderline orange localities with more than 70% vaccinated. As part of this beat, the activities of cafes and small restaurants without a green label will be allowed. Opening under the green sign conditions will be possible for large restaurants (reservation in advance), hotels (full operation) and event gardens, attractions and conferences. Even beyond this stage, it will be conditional on meeting the dimensions: four million vaccinated in a second dose, a vaccination rate of at least 95% among those aged 50 and over, as well as stability in the number of difficult patients and the coefficient of infection.
