A while back, it was speculated that Apple is testing two types of iPhone prototypes that can be folded in. According to consultant John Prosser, the company was testing a design that was similar to what we saw with the Galaxy Z Fold and Galaxy Z Flip. Now, according to the latest video by Prosser, it has been revealed that the Apple team seems to be moving more towards a Galaxy Z Flip-like clamshell design for their foldable iPhone.
Prosser says it’s not certain why Apple chose this particular form factor but it was definitely moved up in the production line. In addition to this, Prosser also talked about the color variations and Apple’s target audience for its foldable iPhone.

It says that the iPhone clamshell may come in ‘fun’ colors similar to what we saw in iPhone 12. He says that color notes will not be as bad as we saw in iPhone 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max. The introduction of alsos color models reflects the kind of audience that Apple could be targeting.
As for the timeline that has been launched, Prosser adds that despite several reports mentioning that foldable iPhones could arrive in 2022, which next year may not it’s so because the company doesn’t go that far with the idea of a foldable iPhone.
