HOUSTON – The former Harris County Sheriff’s deputy sheriff who was not arrested at the time of a car crash is now charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, authorities said Monday.
The messenger was not injured, but Rudegelio Buning Tacorda, 47, was in the Harris County Sheriff’s Office. He was cut in his hand during a hunt by the messenger.
According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, the shooting occurred Saturday at an apartment building in the Katy area around 8:45 pm at 23614 Dr. West Center, near Katy Freeway and Highway 99.
Officials said the suspect fled the scene, but looked up at Hermann Memorial Hospital with the gunshot wound in his hand.
