Thousands attend a rabbi’s funeral in Bnei Brak

Violations of corona regulations in the ultra-Orthodox sector continue: Thousands of ultra-Orthodox attended today (Sunday) the funeral of Rabbi Chaim Meir Halevi Wazner, Governor of the Rosh Yeshivat Chachmei Lublin in Bnei Brak, who passed away today at the age of 83.

The funeral procession, which began in the afternoon at the Yeshiva of the Sages of Lublin in Bnei Brak, was accompanied, among other things, by many yeshiva heads in Israel.

Before the funeral procession, the rabbi’s bed was brought to the house of life in Holon, where the ‘purification’ was held and the family members said goodbye to him. The funeral ceremony continues until these hours in Bnei Brak.

The police set up fences and barriers to prevent the participants from crossing, but in response they forcibly pushed over the fences and pressure barriers and broke through the fences.

The rabbi’s funeral takes place less than a day after Israel began to withdraw from the quarantine, with morbidity figures still high. Recently, mass funerals were held, during the period of restrictions in both the Arab and ultra-Orthodox sectors.

From the Twitter network

Yesh Atid chairman Yair Lapid tweeted in response to photos from the funeral on his Twitter account: “Insane government, insane funeral. The Israeli government is in place, losing control and looking for excuses and guilt – why did you not prevent this funeral from taking place? ”

It should be noted that during the closure period, many violations also took place in the general sector, among other things by holding parties and gatherings in homes.
